A GAF Limited Warranty is applied to all GAF shingles. This warranty provides fundamental coverage against manufacturing defects, with proration over a 50-year period. As the materials age, the potential monetary recovery in the event of an issue decreases as the roof ages.

If you were to purchase GAF shingles yourself at a home improvement store, you would receive this warranty.

The Limited Warranty does not require a GAF Certified or Master Elite contractor to install the shingles. As a result, it does not include a workmanship warranty and the warranty coverage will decrease over time.

To receive the Systems Plus Warranty, a GAF Certified or GAF Master Elite contractor must install your shingles. This means that your roofing contractor is backed by GAF through a process that ensures they provide high-quality workmanship.

This warranty includes tear-off costs and covers installation labor and replacement of GAF products. The Systems Plus Warranty stays intact for 50 years. You receive coverage for manufacturing defects, but if there are any workmanship errors this warranty will not provide coverage for them.

This warranty offers more comprehensive coverage, as it builds upon the benefits of the Systems Plus Warranty. This warranty can only be provided by a GAF Master Elite contractor.

In addition to the benefits provided by a Systems Plus warranty, the Silver Pledge warranty will cover disposal costs and protection for workmanship. The workmanship warranty lasts 10 years. GAF trusts their Master Elite contractors so much that if they ever go out of business, GAF will still fix any mistakes in their work. Even in the event that the contractors can’t honor the warranty themselves.

The Golden Pledge Warranty covers the most comprehensive coverage of all of GAF’s warranties. This warranty offers workmanship coverage for 25 years on most shingles.

The Golden Pledge warranty can only be offered by Master Elite contractors.

This warranty offers extended workmanship coverage for 30 years on GAF designer shingles. Similar to the Silver Pledge Warranty, the Golden Pledge Warranty guarantees that if your roofing contractor were to go out of business during the coverage period, GAF will still reconcile any mistakes in their work.
