Metal Roofing Built for the Coast, Installed by Roofers Who Live Here
A metal roof is the longest-lasting roof we install, and on the Grand Strand that matters more than anywhere inland. Salt air, humidity and summer storms wear out a roof fast, and a standing seam metal roof shrugs off all three. We install two systems. Standing seam has concealed fasteners and tall ribs, and it is the most wind resistant roof you can put on a house here. Corrugated, also called exposed fastener, costs less, and its screws need inspecting and replacing every 7 to 10 years. Both come in aluminum, steel or copper. Both carry a 25-year paint warranty, up to a 50-year material warranty, and up to a 210 mph wind warranty. If you are still deciding between the two, our guide to corrugated versus standing seam metal roofs walks through the trade-offs.
Linta Roofing has been roofing since 1948. We are a GAF Master Elite and IKO ROOFPRO Craftsman Premier contractor, and FORTIFIED certified. Every metal roof is installed by our own crew from our Little River shop, never a subcontractor.

Metal Roof Options for Grand Strand Homes
Every metal roof we install starts with a full tear-off and a check of the roof deck. From there you have five choices to make.
Standing Seam Metal Roof
Vertical panels joined by raised seams, with every fastener hidden under the metal. No exposed screws means fewer places for water to get in and almost no maintenance. It is the most wind resistant roof we install, with ratings above 200 mph on the right installation. It is the system we recommend for homes closest to the water.
Corrugated Metal Roof
Also called an exposed fastener or screw-down roof. The panels are fixed with screws you can see, which keeps the price lower. Those screws expand and contract with the heat, so they need inspecting and replacing every 7 to 10 years. Our standing seam versus screw-down comparison covers when each one makes sense.
Aluminum, Steel or Copper
Aluminum does not rust, which makes it the first choice near the ocean. Steel costs less and comes with a corrosion-resistant coating. Copper is the premium option and develops its patina over time. We will tell you which one fits your home and your budget during the inspection.
Color and Finish
Metal roofs come in far more colors than shingles, and the paint is backed by a 25-year warranty. Lighter colors reflect summer heat. See our metal roof color guide for what works on coastal homes.
Metal Roof Repair
Already have a metal roof? We repair loose fasteners, damaged panels, failed sealant and leaks at the seams and flashings. Our metal roof repair cost guide gives typical ranges.
Metal Roofing Cost in Myrtle Beach
We publish our metal roof prices so you can see them before you speak to anyone. For a 3,000 square foot roof, the average size on the Grand Strand, a corrugated metal roof runs $13,500 to $21,000. A standing seam metal roof runs $30,000 to $51,000. The range on standing seam is wide because steel, aluminum and copper are priced very differently. You get a written price after the free inspection and before any work starts. If you find the same roof cheaper after you sign, we return your deposit plus $100. Financing is available through a third-party lender with no hard credit inquiry. We are also a certified installer for the SC Safe Home and FORTIFIED grant programs, so ask us whether your project qualifies. See the full breakdown on our roofing pricing page.
Metal Roof or Shingles?
A metal roof costs more up front than architectural shingles and lasts far longer. If you plan to stay in your home for decades, or hand it down, metal usually pays for itself. You skip the repairs and replacements a shingle roof needs over the same years. If you are not sure how long you will be in the house, shingles may be the better value, and we will say so. Read our shingle versus metal comparison and the six problems with a metal roof before you decide.
Metal Roofs, Storms and Your Insurance Claim
If a storm has damaged your current roof, the claim comes first. Our project managers are HAAG trained, which is the same forensic standard insurance adjusters use. The storm report is free, and we meet your adjuster at the house so the approval reflects current building code. Many homeowners use an approved claim as the starting point for upgrading to a metal roof. We will walk you through what your policy covers and what the upgrade adds. Our insurance claim assistance page explains the three-step process.

Standing seam if you want the lowest maintenance and the highest wind resistance, and you plan to keep the house. Corrugated if the budget is tighter and you are happy to have the fasteners serviced every 7 to 10 years. We will show you both on the inspection.
Not when they are installed on a solid roof deck with normal attic insulation, which is how we install them. The old barn-roof noise comes from panels fixed over open framing. Our guide to metal roof rain noise explains more.
No. Lightning strikes based on height, isolation and shape, not the roof material. Our guide on whether metal roofs attract lightning explains what happens if a strike does occur.
No. We tear the old roof off and inspect the deck first. Metal over shingles traps moisture, and in our humidity that leads to the kind of damage we would rather you never see. See why in our post on installing metal over shingles.
Decades longer than shingles. The systems we install carry a 25-year paint warranty, up to a 50-year material warranty and up to a 210 mph wind warranty. Our own workmanship warranty sits on top.
