4 Ways to Know if Linta Roofing is Not the Right Fit for Your Roofing Project

By Jeffrey Linta

With dozens of roofing contractors in the Myrtle Beach area, it can be difficult to choose the right roofing company for your needs.

Having served the Myrtle Beach community for 38 years, we have helped thousands of homeowners and business owners with their roofing needs.

If you are considering using Linta Roofing for your upcoming roofing project we suggest continuing to delve deeper and see if you feel we are a good fit for you.

While we hope to be your roofing contractor, we realize there are times when Linta Roofing may not be the right fit for you. In this article we want to discuss some of the services that we do not provide for you as a roofing contractor and some reasons you may go in another direction. We compiled them here so that you can decide whether these things are deal breakers for you, or not.

At Linta Roofing we focus all of our attention on your roofing system. So, while we do not do work on siding or build additions, we are skilled in our ability to fix your roofing concerns.

While some of our employees are very versatile in their abilities outside of roofing, we know that offering a wide variety of services might make us a ‘jack of all trades’ but it may also make us a ‘master of none’.

The reason we do not offer additional construction services is because we believe that in order to be great at something, it requires focus, training, systematic planning, and a set of processes in place to provide a fantastic result for our customers.

If we offer windows, siding, and everything in between, it is unlikely that any of those things would be of high quality. So, we leave other trades up to specialized contractors and focus all of our attention on installing safe, high quality roofing systems that will last! We have seen that focusing our efforts on what we do best is what provides the best results to our customers.

But, we don’t want to leave you hanging. If you need roof work, but you also need some other work completed inside your home, there are plenty of expert carpenters, electricians, and plumbing professionals in the Myrtle Beach area.

At Linta Roofing we believe it is important to do a repair that we feel confident will resolve your issue.

The cost of small repairs add up and could potentially drain your wallet.

Minimal repairs can cause further damage to your roof, as shingles lay on top of one another. Sometimes a small repair can put unnecessary stress on these surrounding shingles, meaning you may need yet another repair. And the saga continues until it is time for a replacement.

Additionally, we know that it can be challenging to find issues, like leaks, on an older roof. Instead of charging you time and time again for small repairs, we will repair a larger section of your roof. This way the repair is comprehensive and you should not need more work completed.

When we complete a repair for you, we don’t want you to have to call us again until you’ve decided it is time to replace your roof.

Over the span of nearly 2 decades, we get this question a lot.

“Will you eat my deductible?”

And as much as we enjoy a good meal, unfortunately, insurance deductibles are not on the menu.

While it may seem like a nice offer, the act of covering a customer’s insurance deductible is not a legal business practice. The process it takes for a roofer to do this requires deception, skewed numbers, and cut corners.

Committing this act can jeopardize a business’ license, their employees, and even their customers. We have plans  to stay in business in the Myrtle Beach area for a long time, so we are not willing to commit insurance fraud and compromise our integrity for the sake of a dollar.

There are many other incentives and tools out there that homeowners can use if cost is their concern.

For example, a few ways you can lower the cost of your roof include grant programs, military discounts, and referral partnerships where you can earn discounts.

Unfortunately, this is not the only questionable roofing practice. You may have also heard companies advertise “price matching”.

In most scenarios we are neither the cheapest nor the most expensive option. We will always provide the most competitive estimate we can offer the first time. The statistics in the roofing industry are shocking.

96% of roofing companies close their doors within the first 5 years of business.

Unfortunately, these roofing companies could not be there to stand by their work or their warranties. Leaving a trail of frustrated customers behind them.

To remain in business, a roofing company has to receive a reasonable amount of profit. Price matching will prevent a roofing company from staying in business to fulfill the promises made to their customers.

When purchasing a new roof the cost you pay up front is not always the total cost. If work is not done properly and issues arise over time, the repair costs can outweigh your initial savings from choosing a discount contractor.

While we are not always the cheapest, we hope our 40 years in business is proof that we will do the work on your home properly the first time. This results in avoiding unnecessary repairs, saving you money in the long run.

Choosing the right roofing company can be a daunting task. When there are so many options, it may leave you wondering “who is the right roofing company for me?”

Now that we’ve offered you a fair assessment of the things we don’t provide at Linta Roofing, we hope you find value in the same things we do. And we encourage you to check out all the things we do offer you during your upcoming roofing project.

At the end of the day, you know what is best for you and your home. Whether we are on your list of potential roofing contractors or not, we encourage you to compare contractors based on what matters most to you.

And when it comes to questions about roofing, we will always be available to help you however we can!
