If you’re looking for a roofer you can trust, you’re likely overwhelmed with options. Here in Myrtle Beach you’ll find several qualified roofing companies to hire for your roofing needs.

And if you’ve found yourself here, it could be because we did construction work for you in the past, we came across your screen while looking for a roofer, or you heard about us from friends or family. Today, we’re a trusted roofing company in Myrtle Beach, even winning The Sun News’ Best of the Beach award for roofing in 2024.

But things weren’t always this way.

Today, we’ll tell you a story about the people who set the foundation for our present success in the Myrtle Beach area. From Linta Roofing’s humble beginnings to why we exist today to serve Myrtle Beach homeowners like you.

Let’s start from the beginning.

Linta Roofing’s Start in Mansfield Ohio

Our story begins with John Linta, a general contractor based in Mansfield, Ohio. John was known for doing it all – remodeling, additions, siding, and more. And over the years he taught his son Jeff Linta how to provide quality craftsmanship to all sorts of construction projects.

CindyLintaJeff Linta was a man with a big personality. And being such, he did a little bit of everything throughout his early career – everything from ski instruction to hosting a radio show. But as it came time for his father John Linta to retire, Jeff decided to put all the knowledge his father bestowed upon him back into the business John started.

At this time Jeff and his wife Cindy decided to take on the family business with a drive to serve people well.

How Linta Roofing Came to Myrtle Beach

After years of vacationing in the Myrtle Beach area, Jeff and Cindy decided to pack up and take their business south. In 1985, they packed up a truck, some ladders, and took a leap of faith to make the move to Myrtle Beach.

JeffLinta MovingAt first, it wasn’t glamorous. Jeff and Cindy offered a wide variety of services to make ends meet. So while today you may know us for roofing, there was a time Jeff washed driveways, patched roofs, and took on odd jobs to make ends meet during slow construction seasons. Jeff and Cindy, known for their friendly and kind approach to business, slowly became a trusted name in construction around the Myrtle Beach area, known as Jeff Linta Roofing and Construction. All while operating out of a spare bedroom in their home in Little River, SC.

Over the years, Jeff and Cindy had children, Lauren and Jeffrey Linta. As they grew, it was time for their oldest, Jeffrey, to get to work. So, Jeff put his son to work cleaning up job sites and completing small roof repairs for residents around the Grand Strand. This work was tedious, but Jeffrey took a strong interest in roofing, and after college he started working for his dad full time completing roof inspections and repairs.

Hurricane Florence’s Impact on Jeff Linta Roofing and Construction

At this time, the family business was in full swing. Jeff was completing larger construction projects, Jeffrey was in charge of roof repairs, and Cindy kept the checks and balances in order back at their home office.

In 2018, Hurricane Florence hit the Myrtle Beach area, doing quite a lot of damage to homes in Horry County. And Jeffrey was on the move. As he went out to roof inspections he started to notice a concerning pattern. If he kept repairing roofs, these homeowners would quickly spend the same amount in repairs over the next few years as they would a new roof.

Rather than having them shell out roof repair money here and there over the years, he started talking to homeowners about having their roofs replaced. Homeowners took well to his advice and Jeff noticed.

Earning Trust Through Education

JeffreyBillboard-1Jeff Linta, known for his charismatic and extroverted personality, often took a more laid back approach when speaking with homeowners. Not only was he good at what he did, homeowners just naturally liked talking to him. On the other hand, Jeffrey’s strength was educating homeowners, going over materials, pros and cons of different roofing decisions, and what would bring the homeowner long term value to help them make the best choice.

Jeffrey’s consultative approach paid off. With curiosity and persistence, Jeffrey learned even more about the roofing industry as a whole. And after seeing a need in the area, Jeffrey learned how to help homeowners navigate the insurance process, which proved to be an incredibly valued service for Myrtle Beach homeowners.

Things were moving forward for Jeff Linta Roofing and Construction.

How COVID-19 Changed the Family Roofing Business

Jeff&JeffreyAfter COVID-19 hit the nation in 2020, its ripple effect remained. And in late 2021, the unexpected happened, Jeff Linta, the heart of the company, fell ill. Due to complications from COVID-19, Jeffrey and Cindy decided to move the business to its own location to allow Jeff to recover at home in peace.

Unfortunately, the day before they moved into their new office, Jeff Linta passed away. Leaving behind his legacy, his family, and a business people on the Grand Strand put their trust in. At this time, Jeffrey knew it was up to him to keep the business going. And through a confusing and grief-stricken time Cindy and Jeffrey pushed forward to continue the business.

Shifting from Jeff Linta Roofing and Construction to Linta Roofing

In order to provide homeowners with the best home improvement services, Jeffrey knew he had a choice to make. He knew that without his dad, we simply couldn’t offer all the services we had with the same level of quality as in the past. This is when Jeffrey decided to narrow the focus of the business to what he knew best – roofing.

This meant dropping all other trades. No more siding, additions, decks, or windows. Just roofing. Just one service done exceptionally well.

At this time Jeffrey changed the company’s name to Linta Roofing and brought forth modern efforts to reach homeowners on the Grand Strand. But one thing never changed, the company’s commitment to providing Myrtle Beach homeowners with honesty, integrity, and high quality workmanship.

Linta Roofing Today

DJI_0931-1In March of 2025, Linta Roofing moved out of their small office off of Highway 17 and into a brand new building on Highway 57 in Little River. The things Jeffrey learned while working under his father can now be seen in videos and blogs on the internet, knowing that an educated customer will always make a decision that they can be proud of for many years to come.

And while we now have a brand new building we’re operating out of, the values Jeff and Cindy held true continue to drive the business’ focus.

Through hard work, grief, and a commitment to provide the best possible roofing services in Myrtle Beach, Linta Roofing continues to offer the same level of service John Linta provided 3 generations earlier. With the same vision and focus to be a contractor people could trust.
